From Family Tradition to Professional Illumination
When we moved into our house in 2009, it was just the five of us and a few strings of lights. Sixteen years later, decorating has become a tradition not just for our family, but for the whole community.
Every summer we brainstorm new ideas, and every Thanksgiving weekend, with help from friends, we begin building what became one of Oakville’s most recognized holiday displays - having been featured in newspapers, on TV, and on the radio. But this tradition became about more than just twinkling lights — it became about giving back.
Since 2016, with the support of our neighbors, we’ve raised over 10,000 pounds of food and $40,000 for local charities including Kerr Street Mission, Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation, The Lighthouse for Grieving Children, Community Living Oakville, and WeCare.
This year, due to major street construction in our neighbourhood, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause our show for safety reasons… but the magic isn’t cancelled, it’s coming to you!
